(Windows 8.1) Show my desktop background on Start grey out (cannot select)

Problem: "Show my desktop background on Start" will be grey out (cannot select to enable this feature)

Reason: The Windows did not activated.

Solution: Activate the Windows.

    My windows 8.1 pro is activated and yet the option is still grayed out.

      Please Ensure Show Windows background is enabled.

      Go to "Change pc settings" -> "ease of access" -> "other options" -> "shows windows background (turn on)"

      Oh Yeah, now that you mention this, I was playing around in the accessibility area/ease of access a few weeks back and now remember I did turn it off.. Thanks..
