Windows 7 + 4GB RAM + NVidia Chipset = USB will fail or only run in USB 1.1

Windows 7 + 4GB RAM + NVidia Chipset = USB will fail or only run in USB 1.1

1) System is running Windows 7

2) System has an nVidia chipset

3) System has 4GB of RAM or more

Solution:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/976972

If you Windows 7 have been updated to SP1, this hotfix cannot be install.

You need to install 7601usbfix.

1. The Windows 7 SP1 USB Driver Bug (what it is and how to fix it)

Remark: Anyone who installed a new copy of Windows 7 SP1 using an official integrated ISO (and it looks like homemade slipstreamed integrated ISOs are okay, too).

Download "7601usbfix"

2. Install the last nforce chipset have been released (2 May 2011)

Force install the "nVidia nforce PCI System Management" by using the manual install driver from the folder "C:\NVIDIA\nForceWin7VistaInt\15.56\SMBUS"
