Force update Lenovo thinkpad BIOS without battery

Unpack .fl1 file (the actual bios) using phcomp.exe, and flash it directly using WinPhlash

Warning: Do not power off the machine during BIOS upgrade, otherwise the machine will be broken.

    can you provide a more detailed how to for idiots like me? I'm trying to force a bios update on a helix 3xxx model but cant figure this out
