Oracle Forms 6i in Windows of 64 bits (Solution)

Problem: When using a L2000 on Windows 64bits environment, it cannot preview/print a report

The issue occurs between the splwow64 thunking spooler and the rwrbe60 process. The rwrbe60 process uses print drivers (of you default printer) to generate the report. The splwow64 thunker spooler translates 64bit printer drivers to 32bit application. For what ever reason, this system does not work correctly. It just goes off into la la land.

If you Windows 7 have been updated to SP1, this hotfix cannot be install.

You need to install 7601usbfix.

1. The Windows 7 SP1 USB Driver Bug (what it is and how to fix it)

http://forums.mydigitallife.info/threads/24666-The-Windows-7-SP1-USB-Driver-Bug-(what-it-is-and-how-to-fix-it)

Remark: Anyone who installed a new copy of Windows 7 SP1 using an official integrated ISO (and it looks like homemade slipstreamed integrated ISOs are okay, too).

Download "7601usbfix"

Force install the "nVidia nforce PCI System Management" by using the manual install driver from the folder "C:\NVIDIA\nForceWin7VistaInt\15.56\SMBUS"

Cannot save a "Share workbook option" excel on the network drive

Instead of  the problem caused by KB 978382 (Security Update for MS Office Excel 2007).

The problem will be caused by the enabled "share workbook option" file is using different version office (e.g. 2003 and 2007) to save to the same file

To work around this problem, use either of the following methods:

  • To avoid this problem when you create a workbook that must be shared, turn on the shared workbook option before you save the workbook to a network share.
  • If the problem has already occurred, follow these steps:
  • Open the shared workbook, and then save it to a local drive.
  • Turn on the shared workbook option.
  • Save the workbook on the network share.
